CATCH - Comprehensive Assessment and Treatment for Children

CATCH is a comprehensive assessment and treatment program for children ages birth to 16. We specialize in helping children with a variety of needs, including:

• Developmental disabilities
  and delays
• Traumatic brain injury 
• Dysphagia 
• Neurological impairments 
• Genetic disorders 
• Congenital anomalies 
• Autism 
• Torticollis 
• Erbs palsy 
• And other diagnoses

An individual assessment is completed.

Depending on the child’s needs and strengths, we may conduct one or more of the following assessments:

• Oral motor, feeding, and swallowing assessment
• Movement skills and balance assessment
• Speech and language assessment
• Eye/hand skill assessment
• Sensory processing assessment

Our facilities are child and parent-friendly.

The CATCH program is available at our convenient location on Borthwick Avenue in Portsmouth. Our extended morning and afternoon hours are helpful to working parents and we offer plenty of parking. Our comfortable,bright facilities offer child-friendly rooms and a variety of therapeutic toys. A warm water indoor pool is available for therapeutic activities/exercise.

The child’s individualized treatment plan may include:

• Balance and visual motor training
• Aquatic therapy
• Equipment consultations
• Socialization groups
• Physical and occupational therapy
• Speech and language therapy
• Community based consultations

Our multidisciplinary staff understands and loves children.

The CATCH program uses a team approach in assessing and treating our patients. Our team includes:

• Physical therapists
• Occupational therapists
• Speech and language therapists

We coordinate our treatment with the child’s pediatrician to ensure continuity of care and communication.

The CATCH program is part of Rehabilitation Services at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

In addition to PT, OT and speech services, the CATCH Program offers expertise in:

• Feeding and swallowing
• Neurodevelopmental therapy
• Sensory Integration
• Therapeutic Electrical Stimulation
