Reiki
Reiki specialists transfer energy through their hands by gently touching your head, shoulders, knees, ankles and feet. This therapeutic approach is designed to help you experience a deep relaxation. It aims to decrease your blood pressure, reduce your heart rate and deepen your breathing, giving you a sense of warmth and peacefulness. Decreased levels of stress and pain after a Reiki session may help you recover from an illness, surgery or childbirth.
You can periodically join our skilled practitioners for an hour of gentle energy healing and breath exercises. In classroom four at our hospital, these free sessions are held the third Wednesday of each month from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. There is no need to call in advance.

How integrative medicine helps
Encouraging the mind and body to work together can lead to physical and emotional benefits. This approach to care may be especially useful before and after surgery, as well as if you have cancer or severe pain. It can also help you manage life changes from aging, menopause, diabetes, heart disease or weight loss. With holistic care, you may benefit from:
- Faster recovery
- Less anxiety
- Reduced discomfort (with less pain medication required)
