Comprehensive gastroenterology care
Our digestive health specialists give you access to a full range of GI treatments and services. These include diagnostic tests, imaging procedures, cancer support, surgery and dietary counseling.
Endoscopic treatments and services
An endoscopy is an outpatient procedure that allows our physicians to visually examine the esophagus, stomach and intestines using an endoscope — a long, thin tube with a camera on the tip. Endoscopic procedures may be used to take tissue samples and remove polyps, often avoiding the need for surgery.
To diagnose and care for your GI condition, our team of highly experienced gastroenterologists, certified endoscopy nurses and technicians provide various treatments, including:
- Ambulatory pH monitoring
- Bronchoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Digestive testing
- Endoscopic ultrasound
- Esophageal dilation
- Esophageal studies
- Feeding tube placement
- Motility studies
- Photodynamic therapy
- Radiofrequency ablation (RFA)
- Removal of gallstones
- Upper GI endoscopy
We also aim to make your visit as comfortable and convenient as possible through:
- 11 private operating rooms with designated space for advanced procedures, including bronchoscopy and fluoroscopy
- Personalized nurse navigation services during GI cancer treatment, in collaboration with our oncology department
- Same-week appointments
- Sedation by an anesthesiologist, if requested
Colonoscopy
A colon screening, or colonoscopy, is the most effective early detection system for colon cancer. During a colonoscopy, we use a flexible scope with a tiny camera inside to view the entire length of the colon and see any signs of a potential problem. If polyps are discovered, they can be removed immediately with another tiny instrument inside the scope.
With the computerized tomography (CT) scan technology at our hospital, we perform some colon screening procedures as virtual colonoscopies. Our doctors can use this type of noninvasive, image-guided approach to identify colorectal cancer and polyps without having to sedate you.
Current guidelines suggest starting your colon cancer screenings at 45 years old, so we recommend talking to your doctor about when and how often you need a colonoscopy.
Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)
EBUS is a tool for diagnosing lung infections, lung cancer and other diseases that enlarge the lymph nodes in the chest.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
GERD is a chronic disorder causing stomach acid or bile to irritate the lining of the esophagus, or food pipe. As a result, you may experience some common signs and symptoms, including:
- Acid indigestion
- Burning sensation in your chest
- Difficulty swallowing
- Heartburn
- Regurgitation of food or sour liquid
- Sensation of a lump in the throat
Advanced surgical care for GERD
The transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) procedure, which we perform through the mouth, creates a barrier at the top of the stomach to prevent gastric acid from backing up. It is noninvasive, which could mean fewer complications and shorter recovery times than traditional surgical options. For a consultation, call (888) 421-1080.
If you have a scheduled surgical procedure, you can register online to save time during the check-in process.
