Comprehensive support for the kidneys

Our nephrology services
The kidneys, located in the lower back, help rid waste, balance chemicals, control blood pressure and preserve bones. Our specialized team can treat kidney-related issues using multiple methods, including:
- Diabetes management
- Inpatient kidney dialysis
- Kidney surgery
Surgical kidney care
If you have kidney disease or renal cancer, and surgical treatment is required, we can connect you to surgeons who perform minimally invasive procedures. Our surgeons often operate with laparoscopic techniques, enabling them to use small incisions and an instrument with a tiny video camera to locate and remove diseased tissue or the entire kidney. Minimally invasive surgery may benefit you by resulting in less pain, a faster recovery and a quicker return to normal activities.
For your convenience, you can register online ahead of your scheduled procedure to save time during the check-in process.
About chronic kidney disease (CKD)
CKD means your kidneys are damaged and can no longer filter blood as they should. This can cause waste to build up in your body and contribute to other serious health concerns. Some infections, inherited diseases and injuries can lead to kidney disease, although two-thirds of all new cases of CKD in the United States are caused by diabetes and high blood pressure. Early detection and lifestyle changes can help prevent kidney disease and the development of kidney failure.
CKD treatment
Treatments for CKD may include medication to lower blood pressure, control blood glucose and reduce blood cholesterol. If kidney disease leads to kidney failure, your treatment options consist of dialysis, kidney removal or a kidney transplant.
